What About Wayne Rooney's Saga? Where Has it Reached? Do You Know That He Has Started to Annoy His Fellows? Go Here for Updates!

Wayne Rooney Has Burned His Last Bridge
Via b/r
Wayne Rooney has reportedly backed himself into a corner at Manchester United, where his teammates are beginning to turn against him according to David Maddock and Alan Nixon of the Daily Mirror.
The wantaway forward continues to court the attention of Chelsea, who saw a second bid rejected on Monday, and the disruption to United’s preseason preparations is beginning to anger some of the club’s veterans. Maddock and Nixon provide the details:Sources close to the Old Trafford club have explained there is an increasing antagonism towards the England striker, with senior players “unhappy” at his stance, which they see as a blatant attempt to strengthen his own position without any regard for the unsettling effect it is having on the team.Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra are all named by the Daily Mirror article, while the Daily Star also claims United stars are becoming increasingly unimpressed with Rooney’s behaviour, which is threatening to overshadow Ferdinand’s forthcoming testimonial on August 9.
Rooney’s desire to quit Old Trafford was initially revealed at the back end of last season by former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and Jose Mourinho has since confirmed he wants the England man at Chelsea.
The tabled fee reached £25 million on Monday but United plan to make the transfer as difficult as possible for Chelsea, who are widely viewed as a major threat to their Premier League crown this season.
A United spokesman addressed Chelsea’s offer, saying in the Daily Mirror: “A bid was received yesterday [Sunday] and immediately rejected. Our position remains that he is not for sale.”

For us, it's about moving on and doing our own work. There will come a point where they understand our position. Pope to Muslims for end of Ramadan: Promoting Mutual Respect through Education. Via Vatican Radio
Posted on 05:07 by Unknown
(Vatican Radio) The Vatican has published a message from Pope Francis to the world's Muslims for the conclusion of Ramadan. This year, the Islamic period of prayer and fasting concludes between August 8th and 9th.
Though it’s usually issued by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Pope Francis says at the start of his pontificate, he wished to personally send this message of good wishes to the world’s Muslims himself as they celebrate Id al-Fitr, breaking their fast.
In the message, the Pope proposes a theme of common reflection “that concerns both Muslims and Christians: Promoting Mutual Respect through Education.”
Saying respect is a mutual “process” of kindness, Pope Francis invited Muslims and Christians to respect each person “first of all his life, his physical integrity, his dignity and the rights deriving from that dignity, his reputation, his property, his ethnic and cultural identity, his ideas and his political choices. We are therefore called to think, speak and write respectfully of the other, not only in his presence, but always and everywhere, avoiding unfair criticism or defamation. Families, schools, religious teaching and all forms of media have a role to play in achieving this goal.”
Where interreligious relations are concerned, “especially between Christians and Muslims,” the Pope said, “ we are called to respect the religion of the other, its teachings, its symbols, its values. Particular respect is due to religious leaders and to places of worship. How painful are attacks on one or other of these!”
In educating our Muslim and Christian youth, the Pope said, “we have to bring up our young people to think and speak respectfully of other religions and their followers, and to avoid ridiculing or denigrating their convictions and practices.”
Reiterating “the great importance of dialogue and cooperation among believers, in particular Christians and Muslims,” Pope Francis said these need to be “enhanced” and he expressed his hope that people of both faiths “may be true promoters of mutual respect and friendship, in particular through education.”
******************************
Below, please find the text of Pope Francis’ message:
To Muslims throughout the World
It gives me great pleasure to greet you as you celebrate ‘Id al-Fitr, so concluding the month of Ramadan, dedicated mainly to fasting, prayer and almsgiving.
It is a tradition by now that, on this occasion, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue sends you a message of good wishes, together with a proposed theme for common reflection. This year, the first of my Pontificate, I have decided to sign this traditional message myself and to send it to you, dear friends, as an expression of esteem and friendship for all Muslims, especially those who are religious leaders.
As you all know, when the Cardinals elected me as Bishop of Rome and Universal Pastor of the Catholic Church, I chose the name of “Francis”, a very famous saint who loved God and every human being deeply, to the point of being called “universal brother”. He loved, helped and served the needy, the sick and the poor; he also cared greatly for creation.
I am aware that family and social dimensions enjoy a particular prominence for Muslims during this period, and it is worth noting that there are certain parallels in each of these areas with Christian faith and practice.
This year, the theme on which I would like to reflect with you and with all who will read this message is one that concerns both Muslims and Christians: Promoting Mutual Respect through Education.
This year’s theme is intended to underline the importance of education in the way we understand each other, built upon the foundation of mutual respect. “Respect” means an attitude of kindness towards people for whom we have consideration and esteem. “Mutual” means that this is not a one-way process, but something shared by both sides.
What we are called to respect in each person is first of all his life, his physical integrity, his dignity and the rights deriving from that dignity, his reputation, his property, his ethnic and cultural identity, his ideas and his political choices. We are therefore called to think, speak and write respectfully of the other, not only in his presence, but always and everywhere, avoiding unfair criticism or defamation. Families, schools, religious teaching and all forms of media have a role to play in achieving this goal.
Turning to mutual respect in interreligious relations, especially between Christians and Muslims, we are called to respect the religion of the other, its teachings, its symbols, its values. Particular respect is due to religious leaders and to places of worship. How painful are attacks on one or other of these!
It is clear that, when we show respect for the religion of our neighbours or when we offer them our good wishes on the occasion of a religious celebration, we simply seek to share their joy, without making reference to the content of their religious convictions.
Regarding the education of Muslim and Christian youth, we have to bring up our young people to think and speak respectfully of other religions and their followers, and to avoid ridiculing or denigrating their convictions and practices.
We all know that mutual respect is fundamental in any human relationship, especially among people who profess religious belief. In this way, sincere and lasting friendship can grow.
When I received the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See on 22 March 2013, I said: “It is not possible to establish true links with God, while ignoring other people. Hence it is important to intensify dialogue among the various religions, and I am thinking particularly of dialogue with Islam. At the Mass marking the beginning of my ministry, I greatly appreciated the presence of so many civil and religious leaders from the Islamic world.” With these words, I wished to emphasize once more the great importance of dialogue and cooperation among believers, in particular Christians and Muslims, and the need for it to be enhanced.
With these sentiments, I reiterate my hope that all Christians and Muslims may be true promoters of mutual respect and friendship, in particular through education.
Finally, I send you my prayerful good wishes, that your lives may glorify the Almighty and give joy to those around you.
Happy Feast to you all!
From the Vatican, 10 July 2013

Six minutes, people. Let's all breathe a sigh of relief
We must be getting old, because when we read that Rihanna turned up to the Playhouse Nightclub in LA at 2.21am in the morning, to begin her night, we felt all tired.
But it's a good thing she started her night so late - as six minutes before, at 2.15am, her love rival Karrueche Tran had left the club. Eeek.
Karrueche, who's Chris Brown's on/off girlfriend, was clubbing in a white dress with a male friend, and walked out to get her car home just before Rihanna arrived. Was it a co-incidence, or did someone text Rihanna the all clear? Anyway, she only stayed 40 minutes and left around 3am.
Rihanna won the fashion war though - while Karrueche was wearing some kind of white beach cover up thing, Rihanna wore a mesh-panelled Alexander Wang dress and her new hair. You heard about her new hairstyle, right?
Rihanna: looking good, but no pants onKarrueche and Rihanna have a long history together - Karrueche was dating Chris Brown when he decided to split up with her last year - because he loved Rihanna. In an online video, he said: "When you share history with somebody, then you tend to fall in love with somebody else, it’s kind of difficult. I'm not trying to be a player, I just care too much sometimes."
The video was posted online the day after Chris announced his split from Karrueche, saying that: "I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives."
Karrueche: not looking so good, pants situation unconfirmedSo then Chris started dating Rihanna again, but in May this year, Chris went on the radio in Australia to explain that he was "couldn't be focussed on wife-ing" Rihanna and then went partying with Karrueche. Uh oh. Chris and Rihanna traded Twitter blows , and it looked like he was back with his ex. And then THEY traded Twitter picturesand then we died of old age, because who fights through Instagram posts?
So we can understand if every barman, toilet attendant and doorman was a bit nervous when both Rihanna and Karrueche were on the guest list. But relax: those six minutes saved us all.
Girls Live in Fear of Being Raped At Rukwa School. Source: allAfrica.com

Sumbawanga — SCHOOLGIRLS at Mzindakaya Secondary School in Kaengesa village, Sumbawanga District, in Rukwa Region, are being raped by unknown people who intrude in their rooms at night but they are too ashamed to report the ugly incidents.
Investigations carried out by the 'Daily News' recently reveal that the victims are girl students renting rooms in the village who have been attacked and raped at night while they are sleeping in their rooms by unknown assailants who take advantage of the dilapidated condition of the rented houses.
The suspected culprits are young men from within and outside the region who have migrated in large numbers to the village reportedly to steal fuel from contractors rehabilitating a section of the Laela-Sumbawanga road to tarmac level.
This paper has also established that most the girls at the school are forced to rent rooms at a cheap price of 1,000/- per month because their parents or guardians are too poor to accommodate them at the school's two hostels.
A cross-section of the school girls who were interviewed by this newspaper recently at the school confessed that there were a number of rape cases which went unreported because the victims felt too ashamed to reveal the barbaric acts .
The victims instead opt to undergo treatment secretly without the knowledge of even their parents and guardians.
"Our future now is very grim , we are living in fear, particularly at night when we sleep in our rented rooms as at any time unknown assailants will break into our rooms and rape us .
"Though each one of us has rented a room, at night, for fear of being attacked sexually, we have resolved to share rooms," they said. The school's second mistress, Ms Agatha Okumu, admitted that there were several rape cases which went unreported because the schoolgirls were ashamed of reporting them.
So far only three cases have been reported, one of which happened in May, this year, when three girls were attacked and raped at night, but fortunately the suspect was arrested and hauled to court .
"The rooms in which our girls live in the village are in bad shape and unsafe for them, which makes it easy for potential rapists to intruder at night," she said.
According to her, the latest grisly incident occurred last week when two school girls were raped in turn by unknown people breaking into their room, following which a form four student committed suicide the following day by swallowing poison.
For his part, the school's headmaster, Mr Nicholas Thomas, said parents and guardians were too poor to contribute two bags of maize, a tin of beans and 40,000/- in cash, being the total cost of accommodating a school girl at the school's hostel per term.
TFF Extends Transfer Window Date. Via allAfrica.com
Posted on 03:17 by Unknown
MAINLAND Premier League clubs will have until Monday to strengthen their squads after the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) extended players' registration exercise date.
TFF General Secretary, Angetile Osiah said that the extension follows failure by the federation to secure a compact disc used to process players' registration exercise electronically.
However, he said the federation has already secured the device which was procured from NAS Technology of Tunisia. Osiah said following the extension, submission of objection dates will now be set between Tuesday and August 12 this year, while the TFF Legal, Ethics and Players Status Committee will meet on August 13 and 14 to deliberate on the objections and make decisions.
He said the mini-transfer window will open on November 15th up to December 15th this year. Osiah also urged premier league and first division league teams to submit names of the grounds they expect to use this season. The 2013/14 top flight league is set to kick off on August 24, this year.
Meanwhile, Burundian defender, Gilbert Kaze, was set to sign a two-year deal yesterday to feature for the Mainland giants Simba SC, ahead of the next season's Mainland Premier League, which kicks off on August 24, this year.
Kaze jetted in Dar es Salaam on Thursday. Simba Information Officer, Ezekiel Kamwaga confirmed yesterday that, Kaze (28) was to sign the deal anytime yesterday after he agreed personal terms deal to play for Simba next season. Before joining Vital'O, Kaze had a spell with Police FC of Burundi.
Kaze was at the heart of Vital' O defence when the Burundian Champions won the 2013 CECAFA Kagame Club Championship title for the first time in their history after a superb 2-0 win over three-time winners APR in an exciting final in North Darfur, Sudan last month.
Simba had already completed a coup last month, after signing the 2013 Kagame Cup's top scorer Tambwe Amissi also from Vital'O. On Thursday, the Msimbazi Reds also agreed personal terms with former defender, Ugandan Joseph Owino, who is now re-joining the club from URA of Uganda.
Owino has completed his move back to Simba, where he played with distinctions in 2010/11 season but was dropped after suffering a serious knee injury. He was treated in India and later the towering defender joined Azam FC before he left mid last season, to join URA.
Simba look to strengthen its defence, which was considered as a weak link for the team's campaign both in local and international competitions last season. Many soccer pundits also expect the Ugandan will add quality and strength in Simba's defence, which for the past few seasons has been leaking in many goals, which is not typical of the team's past history.
Meanwhile, Kamwaga has confirmed that defender Vincent Mabusela from South Africa has failed to impress Simba's technical bench and will not be signed by the club. He said the only slot remaining for foreign players has been reserved for Ugandan striker Mosses Oloya, who Kamwaga insisted will arrive in the country on August 24 to complete his move to the club.
Simba are expected to play a friendly match against Police Combine at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam today and Kamwaga said the new recruited players are expected to feature in the match.
In another development, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Tanzanian -Alfred Rwiza as the commissioner of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) second leg match between Angola and winner of the match to pit Mozambique and Namibia.

Drogba on the double as he returns to torment Arsenal once again. Via Independent.ie
Posted on 23:33 by Unknown
Pic by AFP
When Didier Drogba left Chelsea last year after scoring 13 goals in 14 games against Arsenal, Arsene Wenger admitted he would not be missed in north London. "Drogba did a lot of damage against us," he noted, wryly.
Fast-forward 12 months and Wenger must have wondered if he was waking from a recurring nightmare. At half-time of yesterday's match his Arsenal team were in sight of a raretaste of silverware with a first victory in their own Emirates Cup tournament since 2010. Enter Drogba, with his familiar brand of skill, devastating finishing and, yes, some fairly shameless penalty-area theatrics, and Arsenal were beaten.
In nine second-half minutes Wenger's team had gone from dominating the match at 1-0 up – in the 38th minute Theo Walcott's cross evaded everyone, including Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera – to wondering where it had all gone wrong at 2-1 down.
Drogba, inevitably, was the scorer of both Galatasaray goals.
The first, from the penalty spot, followed the slightest of touches in the back from Ignasi Miquel. It was still sufficient to send Drogba, all 6'3" of him, crashing to the floor and successfully persuading referee Jon Moss of the perceived injustice.
Wenger, as well as the Arsenal supporters, complained furiously but Drogba simply celebrated in front of them with relish. "It was classic Drogba," said Wenger. "The penalty was very, very, very, very, very, very soft."
There was no controversy about the second; simply a moment of pure class. Wesley Sneijder, another half-time substitute, dissected Arsenal's defence, allowing Drogba to turn easily inside Per Mertesacker and finish superbly past Wojciech Szczesny.
It was enough to ensure that Galatsaray beat Arsenal, as well as Porto and Napoli, to this year's Emirates Cup. It was also a timely reminder of the difference a truly world-class striker can make.
Arsenal have been without one since selling Robin van Persie last summer and the boos on the final whistle yesterday were indicative of the frustration that simmers now at the Emirates.
Arsenal now have only one game and 12 days before they begin their season against Aston Villa and the sole summer signing is still Yaya Sanogo, a 20-year-old free transfer.
For a club who had begun the summer privately planning to add as many as three "world-class" signings, it has been an underwhelming return.
"Drogba has kept his resources," said Wenger. "He has kept his physical strength, his intelligent game and he finished well."
If Arsenal are to challenge for more than the Emirates Cup this season, it was a glimpse of the sort of class Wenger must add over the next month.

Why LeBron James Would Be a Fearsome Union Boss. Via Yahoo
Posted on 04:33 by Unknown
Both Fox Sports and ESPN reported earlier this week that LeBron James is mulling a run for the presidency of the NBA players union. James, according to anonymous sources, is hesitant to commit the time—yet he also harbors concerns about the strength of the union. If he takes the plunge, it would be a major boost for the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), which has been led by lesser-known players for the past decade. The balance of power in the NBA has shifted since the days when Michael Jordan was making $3.25 million while driving hundreds of millions in revenue growth for the league, but marquee players are still vastly underpaid compared with what they could earn in an open labor market. And James, more than anybody, can make the case that players deserve more.
The current collective bargaining agreement between the NBA and its players sets an artificially low maximum on the pay of any single player and redirects that money toward the middle. So superstars such as James get stiffed because the union works to protect the interests of so-so players who make up the majority of its membership. James knows this. He also seems to understand that a rigged labor market can, at least in theory, help him in the long run by making more fans in more places feel as if their team has a chance, thereby adding to the overall pool of revenue to share. But James, along with many other players, gets cheated because owners exploit this competitive balance argument to hold down labor costs across the board.
As a leader of the underpaid brigade and the NBA’s reigning rainmaker, James is uniquely positioned to push back against the owners’ money grab when the two sides next negotiate, which could come as soon as 2017. He can say from experience that restricting owners’ freedom to pay top players leaves them to make decisions based on such things as beaches and sponsorship opportunities—and that this has a backward effect on competitive balance, pushing the best talent to a handful of marquee markets. And he has the sway to tell the owners, as Jordan famously did in 1999: “If you can’t make a profit, you should sell your team.”

Sorry Chris Brown, Rihanna is so done with being heartbroken over you!
After years and years of punches and disses during their on-and-offtumultuous relationship, RiRi is LOVING life without Breezy.
“She doesn’t miss him. She doesn’t miss the drama. Nobody has time for that.”
That's right! No one should spend that much time dealing with so much dramz, especially someone as busy as the mega successful superstar!
Does this mean she's done throwing shade his way??!
We love it when she is fiesty, but if she REALLY doesn't give a f*ck, gurl would stop giving him ANY thought or attention at all.
It's time to shut the doors on the sour feelings she has for Chris and truly enjoy the freedom of the single life!!!

Fabregas ready to join United. Via SPEN.co.uk
Posted on 00:09 by Unknown
Cesc Fabregas has informed friends in the English game that he is ready to leave Barcelona for Manchester United.
Barcelona have already rebuffed a bid in excess of £30 million from United for the midfielder.
As United continue their pre-season tour of Japan, David Moyes used his press-conference on Thursday to announce that the club's efforts to bring in Fabregas were "ongoing", with another increased bid thought to be on the way.
However according to the Daily Mail the situation may now have titled in United's favour with Fabregas reportedly telling friends in England that he is ready to leave Camp Nou for a second time, having quit Arsenal to return to his hometown club just two years ago.
United will be encouraged by these new developments, with Fabregas attracted by the lure of regular first-team football, which he cannot be guaranteed at Barcelona.
Fabregas is also believed to be keen to link up once again with his former Arsenal team-mate Robin van Persie, with whom he won an FA Cup in 2005.
However Barcelona are still adamant Fabregas will not be leaving. They have already lost the services of midfielder Thiago, who opted to rejoin former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.
But it is understood that if Fabregas asks for a transfer then the club's stance may change.

Atletico-MG came back from a 2-0 first-leg deficit in their Copa Libertadores final against Olimpia, scoring twice in the second half of the second leg and eventually winning on penalties. It is the club's first Libertadores title and it's also the first for Ronaldinho, who was as defiant as he was overjoyed after the decisive shootout.

"It was the title I was missing. I came back to Brazil for this. Everyone said I was finished, let them talk now," Atletico's talismanic playmaker Ronaldinho told reporters on the pitch, who had been due to take his team's fifth penalty if necessary.
At 33 years old, Ronaldinho has now won La Liga (twice), the Champions League, Serie A, Copa America, the Confederations Cup, the World Cup, the Ballon d'Or and Copa Libertadores. It's a collection of titles and awards that's worth rubbing in his critics' faces, but it's not exactly complete. After all, he still hasn't won League Two. Or the Club World Cup.

Messi: "Sihusiki na Kuajiriwa kwa Martino."
Posted on 23:14 by Unknown
